What committees do

The work that makes De Pere go.

The chamber's volunteer committees do the real operational work of the organization. The Ambassador Committee is the one open for new members right now — welcoming new businesses, showing up at ribbon cuttings, and keeping members connected to each other. Committee participation is one of the most direct ways to get more from your membership and to be known in this community.

Whether you're a longtime member looking for a deeper connection, or a newer business exploring what active involvement looks like, this is the place to start. Read on and reach out.

Welcome and outreach

Ambassador Committee

Ambassadors are the boots-on-the-ground promoters of the chamber. They are the first faces a new member sees — at ribbon cuttings, new-member orientations, and community outreach events.

  • Ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new and relocated members
  • New-member welcome and orientation outreach
  • Community outreach and chamber representation at local events
  • Building relationships that turn new members into active members

Do I need to be a chamber member to join a committee?

Committee participation is open to members at every membership level — there is no tier threshold. For anything specific to your situation, contact the chamber office or call (920) 334-6500.

How do I join a De Pere Chamber committee?

The process is simple: express your interest through the form on this page or call us. The chamber or a committee chair will follow up. There is no complex application; the committee chairs want to meet you.

How often do committees meet, and how much time does it take?

Meeting frequency varies by committee and needs to be confirmed with the chamber directly — this varies by calendar year and committee activity. Reach out via the form on this page or call the chamber and ask specifically about the committee you are interested in. The Ambassador Committee, for example, is event-driven and involves more time around ribbon cuttings; the Finance Committee meets less frequently on a reporting schedule.

Which committee is right for me?

It depends on what you enjoy most. If you love meeting people and celebrating new businesses, the Ambassador Committee is your fit. If you are a natural planner and want to be behind the scenes of the chamber's event calendar, look at the Events Committee. If connecting young people to career opportunities matters to you, Youth Works is the place. If you want business owners to have a stronger voice with local government, Advocacy is the right committee. And if raising funds and supporting the Foundation's five program pillars sounds meaningful, Resource Development is the one. Not sure? Tell us your interests via the form on this page and we will match you.

What is the difference between the chamber and the Foundation?

The De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) membership organization focused on business growth, advocacy, and networking. The De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation (DPACCF) is a separate 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit connected to the chamber, focused on charitable programs — youth development, veteran support, women in business, community faith, and civic connection. Membership dues paid to the chamber are deductible as an ordinary business expense, not as a charitable donation. Gifts to the Foundation are the charitable, tax-deductible contributions. Learn more on the Foundation page.

Can I participate in more than one committee?

Some of the chamber's most active members serve on multiple committees — you will notice several names appearing on more than one list above. Confirm availability and any limits with the chamber directly when you reach out. The chamber wants engaged members, and if you have the bandwidth and passion for more than one area, that conversation is welcome.

How it works

Three steps to get involved

No lengthy application, no waiting list, no committee gatekeeping. Tell us what interests you and the chamber takes it from there.

  1. Tell us what interests you

Pick your committee in the form below and send it. Phone works too: (920) 334-6500.

  2. The chamber follows up

Usually within a business day, someone from the chamber — often the committee chair — gets in touch to introduce themselves and answer your questions.

  3. Show up and get involved

Attend your first meeting and meet the team. No probationary period, no dues beyond your membership — just the work and the people who do it.

What involvement actually returns

The De Pere Area Chamber has been crucial to the development of business for myself and the company I represent — affording me opportunities to not only network with other professionals, but to showcase my business and the services we offer. Furthermore, the chamber is a growing entity that allows for productive connections to be made through events and other benefits that are provided. I would highly recommend not only membership in the De Pere Area Chamber, but active involvement, to anyone looking to grow their business potential.
